Editorial: Which dog is the right dog for the Obamas?
There are a lot of big problems going on in the world, but the editorial board at the Grand Junction (Colo.) Free Press figured it was time to sound off on the First Dog. Last week, they mulled over the proper dog choice for the Obamas without reaching a consensus.
Not that they didn’t have opinions. A few:
“They should get a Pit Bull, which can be used to keep the Clintons in check if they overstep their bounds.”
“I’m going to lose a lot of respect for Obama if they end up with a yippy ankle-biter.”
“I fancy the small breeds. My philosophy is ‘big dog, big poops – small dogs, small …’ Get my drift? Obama is a pragmatic man; he’ll get it right.”
The favorite breed for the Obama dog, if there was one, seemed to be the yellow Lab.

I can't see the Obamas with a pit bull. I also can't picture Barack Obama holding a small dog- one Paris Hilton comparison was probably enough for him. How about a St. Bernard? Or a golden retriever?

He can't go wrong with a yellow Lab, though they're a little generic.
